Faculty Innovators Deliver Faculty Development to Baptist Health
The Faculty Innovators program focuses on enhancing pedagogical and technical skills for faculty and the academic community at EKU, and the program is gaining recognition throughout the region. In December, Baptist Health Network requested instructional assistance for its Evolving Leaders program, and four faculty innovators delivered a series of workshops at the Baptist Health campus in Lexington, KY. Dr. Matt Winslow (Faculty Innovator Coordinator), Dr. Lisa Day, Dr. Shirley O’Brien, and Dr. Russell Carpenter designed and facilitated three sessions:
Engaging Teaching Strategies,
Facilitating Active Learning, and
Teaching for Deep Learning.
The sessions will help the Evolving Leaders--content experts in their fields and areas at Baptist Health--design their programs to be more engaging and learner-focused. In addition, Faculty Innovators provided a variety of teaching strategies for participants to consider as they design and facilitate their own sessions.
The Faculty Innovators will lead a variety of faculty development sessions at EKU in the spring 2017 semester as part of the Teaching & Learning Innovation series. Members of the EKU community are encouraged to contact the Faculty Innovator in their college for support, feedback, and guidance on innovative and successful teaching approaches.
