Brief bio: Brianna completed her degree in Technical Writing from EKU in 2011. Following graduation, Brianna completed her Masters degree in Rhetoric & Composition from Ohio University. Currently, she is a first-year doctoral student in Rhetoric & Writing at Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
Eastern Kentucky University’s faculty and students from across the disciplines joined together from April 14th to April 18th for scholarship week in celebration of the culture of scholarship, research, and creative endeavors on campus.
On November 13th, EKU faculty from across the disciplines met in the Noel Studio Conference Room to attend a session on Integrating Research into the Curriculum, led by Dr. Darrin Smith, coordinator of the Office of Undergraduate Research.
On Monday, November 25th, the Noel Studio’s Rusty Carpenter collaborated with students at Williamsburg Independent Schools to provide feedback on their presentations. Students delivered brief research-based presentations in front of peers at their campus in Williamsburg, KY, and via ITV with the Noel Studio in Richmond, KY.
The Noel Studio has been featured in many national publications, most recently A Guide: Planning for Assessing 21st Century Spaces for 21st Century Learners. This guide was assembled and edited by Jeanne Narum, founding principal of PKAL Learning Space Collaboratory and nationally recognized advocate for undergraduate research and sponsored by the Learning Spaces Collaboratory.
The Noel Studio’s November Consultant of the Month, senior, Erin Leigh is pursuing a double major in English and French with a focus in creative writing. She hopes to continue her education in earning her M.F.A. in Creative Writing.
