The Proceedings
Beginning in 2017, the annual Pedagogicon will also include published, peer-reviewed proceedings through New Forums Press. The conference proceedings will feature outstanding and highly competitive manuscripts resulting from presentations delivered at the conference.
The Call
Academic institutions across the country and internationally have considered the role of innovation in faculty development initiatives. From faculty recruitment to campus programming and technology, institutions are thinking in new ways about how we design and implement faculty development to enhance teaching and learning. The proceedings will assemble current trends and practices that advance pedagogical understandings. Submissions should focus on innovations that contribute to, enhance, or expand upon teaching and learning approaches, strategies, and concepts.
Possible threads include, but are not limited to:
High-Impact Educational Practices
Use of technology to enhance teaching and learning
Creative instructional techniques that engage students in learning, especially deep learning
Innovative faculty development initiatives, programs, and processes
New ways to use Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) to enhance teaching and learning
Ways to incorporate diversity into teaching and learning
Submissions should be no longer than 2,500 words and should expand upon the conference presentation and conform to APA style, 6th edition. Although authors are welcome to structure submissions as they see fit, we suggest a broad organizational approach using these categories:
- Introduction
- Institutional or program context
- Overview of strategy, approach, or concept (including relevant research)
- Analysis (How does it work? How is it innovative?)
- Discussion and Considerations
