EngaGE Program Announcement & Save-the-Date

We are pleased to announce the ENGAGE program focused on bringing professional development related to teaching and learning to all faculty teaching General Education courses! ENGAGE will launch officially in fall 2021. With the goal of bringing the most engaging and innovative teaching and learning to our General Education program, ENGAGE will offer

  • Teaching and learning sessions, workshops, and seminars;

  • Resources for use in preparing course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and modules; and

  • Tools for enhancing teaching.

All opportunities will be available using a hybrid/flexible delivery format, meaning that faculty can choose the option(s) for participation that align best with their schedule, goals, and courses.

ENGAGE brings numerous new opportunities to faculty teaching General Education courses as well, in an effort to highlight and showcase highly successful teaching in this area. Features include

  • Awards that recognize teaching and learning to advance areas of student success, retention, and mentorship;

  • Course Redesign Grants with structured support for reimagining General Education courses; and

  • A Teaching Incentive Program (TIP) that provides structure for implementing new teaching techniques into General Education courses.

We welcome all faculty teaching General Education courses in AY 2021-2022 to the spring Launch, the official introduction to the ENGAGE program, an opportunity to learn more about the program, discuss General Education teaching experiences, and plan courses for next year!
