Daisy Scouts visit the Studio

Daisy Scouts

Daisy Scout Troop 2972 of Lexington visited the Noel Studio on Wednesday, January 18th, 2017 to earn their reading badge.

The Troop’s 12 members gathered in the Noel Studio Greenhouse with EKU Learning Resources Team Leader Cindy Judd to read The Invisible Boy by Trudy Ludwig. During the read, the Daisy Scouts thought about and discussed kindness, compassion, and inclusion as they followed the story of a young boy Brian, the main character, who experiences being left out.

After the read, the Daisy Scouts then used Noel Studio resources to draw examples of how to integrate the themes of The Invisible Boy into their own relationships. Members of the Noel Studio staff gave the Daisy Scouts a brief tour of the space and explored the learning resources and tools available in the Invention Space, commonly used by EKU students to think through issues related to communication design and learning here on campus.

The Noel Studio engages the EKU community and region as a transformative physical and virtual hub for innovation in pedagogy, critical and creative thinking, research and communication.
