What is a Multimodal Project?

The Noel Studio provides support for students as they develop written, oral, and multimodal projects. Although we provide services and feedback to many student writers on print essays, a number of students across campus are being assigned projects that involve the use of written, visual (photos, graphs, icons), audio (sound clips or music), and video elements. These elements prompt students to communicate through different modes (writing, visual, or oral, for example).

Common multimodal communication projects in the Noel Studio include:

Research posters
Digital videos

We welcome other multimodal projects as well. Please contact us with additional questions about multimodal communication projects and assignments via email or phone (859.622.7330) for more information.
